Scorer: Hughes (75)
Former Albion boss Ray Harford received a less than friendly welcome from the home fans, but returned to west London with a point his team scarcely deserved. Albion needed no motivation for this crunch game against Harford's men and dominated the early exchanges. Hunt and Hughes piled on the pressure up front, but a combination of bad luck and great keeping ensured the scores remained level. QPR then took the lead against the run of play half-way through the half, with a goal expertly set up by loan star Mark Kennedy. The second half again saw Albion dominate, but as the clock ticked on it looked as if it wouldn't be the Baggies' day. With 15 minutes to go, brave Lee Hughes squared the match when he got among the boots to head home from close range and cut his head in the bargain. Albion could have snatched it as they continued to mount pressure in the final ten minutes, but will ultimately be happy to have secured the point.
Team: Miller, Holmes, Nicholson, Sneekes, Murphy, Carbon, Butler, Carr (Taylor), Hughes, Hunt, Kilbane. Subs (not used): Coldicott, Dobson. Attendance: 19,143 Steve's View: Disappointing not to win, but a good performance against the old boss is consolation. We are finding the net regularly and, Ipswich apart when Carbon was settling in, the defence looks back to its sound best. Man of the Match:Matt Carbon - he looks to be an absolute snip

Scorers: Carbon (40), Evans (81)
Matt Carbon and Mickey Evans scored their first goals for the Baggies to secure a second consecutive away victory. Albion eased past Swindon with a relatively poor performance, but always looked superior to Steve McMahon's woeful side. A dour first half saw both sides fail to break the other down, with Albion playing the cleverer football without a cutting edge. The breakthrough came on 40 minutes when Carbon came forward from the back and headed home to give the Albion a welcome half-time lead. The second half was in the vein of the first, with Swindon never really looking like pegging back the deficit. Albion fans grew more anxious during the closing stages when it looked as if the team's knack of throwing away the lead might again become reality, but nerves were settled when substitute Evans bundled home his first goal since his transfer from Southampton after a Murphy shot was cleared off the line.
Team: Miller, Holmes, Nicholson, Sneekes, Murphy, Carbon, Butler, Hamilton, Hughes, Hunt (Evans 62), Kilbane. Subs (not used): Coldicott, Dobson. Attendance: 9,861 Steve's View: Another great away victory has put the season well back on track. We have three winnable games against QPR, Oxford and Bury ahead, which look likely to make or break the season. Man of the Match:Matt Carbon - settled into the defence fantastically well.
